A whole bunch of Disney Channel shows are currently being developed for Disney Channel, and the streaming service has been in talks with a number of creators about joining the lineup.
One of the new Disney Channel series being developed is the sci-fi thriller The Defenders, a story about the rise of a small group of superheroes and their battles with evil.
The Defenders will be a standalone show, but will be part of a larger Disney Channel universe that includes shows like Supergirl, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, and more.
The other new series being pursued by Disney Channel is a superhero comedy called The Young and the Restless, a show that centers around a young female superhero.
It’s currently in development for a 2018 premiere.
The Defenders will also be the first Disney Channel show to feature the voice talents of Marvel’s Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones, among others.
